Watercolor and interference acrylic paint on archival paper, 16″ x 12,” 2022
Artworks are particularly wonderful when they are being created and still shimmering with water. In an attempt to share this effect this work uses interference paint which flips the color when viewed from different angles. Colors flip between a bright opalescent color and its complement.
Interference paint uses mica flakes, coarse alumina and micaceous iron oxide — these materials make the special and often spectacular iridescent colors.
The original artwork was created on watercolor paper with professional grade fade-resistant pigments..
